CHAPTER 2

Andy woke to the sound of girls’ voices.

Being a rock star was everything he’d ever imagined it would be. His band’s show at Madison Square Garden had gone even better than he’d hoped; they’d opened for Bruce Springsteen, of all people. The funny thing was, he couldn’t remember much about it except for the last song. Something about a butterfly.

Now he was on the couch in his dressing room wishing he wasn’t so drunk. He was having trouble seeing. One of the groupies must have pulled her panties over his head. He blinked and tried to focus through the flimsy fabric. For some reason the girls hovering around him were wearing nurse’s uniforms.

He closed his eyes and the voices faded.
